Teaching Philosophy
Our teaching philosophy encourages a goal-setting approach while focusing on making the lessons as interesting, engaging, and fun as possible. This is accomplished through different activities, custom curriculum, and explanation of basic questions that often go unaddressed, such as why something is important to practice, and how it affects your skill. By increasing this basic understanding of the subject, each student will not only feel better about the instrument they play as they understand it better but also be able to apply their knowledge to newer and more difficult tasks in order to learn quicker and more efficiently in the future!
Our Teacher Selection Process
In order to achieve our promised high standard of education for our students, all our teachers are highly educated and experienced, with certifications and experience from Ontario and sometimes, other parts of the world too! All our teachers go through a thorough interview process to make sure that their teaching philosophy aligns with ours so that they are not only capable but also have the drive to provide the best quality education possible. Whatever your goal, we have an instructor that can help you reach it: from learning how to play the Maple Leaf Rag, to learning the basics for playing in a band, to Royal Conservatory of Music exam preparation for Levels 1-ARCT.
Minimum Requirements for Successful Online Lessons.
To have successful online lessons, we recommend to have at least 25 Mbps download and 5 Mbps upload speeds, however the more the better, as other people on your connection using the internet at the same time may impact your experience.
